Breast Procedures

Breast procedures are designed to improve the balance and shape of your body, and this can be done through enhancement, reduction, or revision. Our physicians at Cosmetic and Reconstructive Specialists of Florida can address a variety of issues related to the breast appearance. The surgical procedures such as breast augmentation, breast lift, and breast reconstruction, can give you a contoured, youthful, and natural appearance to the breasts that meet your individual goals. We also offer our patients effective breast reduction procedures for both men which is referred to as gynecomastia surgery and for women who suffer from overly large breasts which can result in chronic discomfort and pain from the weight of the breasts.

Breast Reconstruction

Breast Reconstruction is a surgical procedure for patients who have a mastectomy or lumpectomy as part of their breast cancer treatment. The patient may choose this procedure to rebuild one or both breasts to near normal appearance, shape, and look. Breast Reconstruction is often performed in stages that involve multiple procedures and can either begin immediately following a mastectomy or be delayed to a later time.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure where saline or silicone breast implants are placed into pockets created in front or behind the pectoral muscle on the chest. Augmentation changes the breast size, projection characteristics, and volume, particularly on the upper breast. Breast augmentation has been the most popular cosmetic procedure in the U.S. for the last number of years. It has incredibly high satisfaction rates with patients.

Breast Augmentation With Implants

Breast augmentation with implants is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures today, and is one of our most frequently performed procedures here at the Cosmetic and Reconstructive Specialists of Florida. Augmentation mammoplasty is a surgical procedure to increase breast size. With the placement of silicone or saline breast implants, our plastic surgeons can add volume to the breasts for a fuller, more contoured appearance that’s more proportionate to your body frame.

Breast Lift

Mastopexy, also known as a breast lift, is a surgical procedure that can rejuvenate your figure with a breast profile that is more youthful and uplifted. It helps address those women who experience sagging of the breasts as a result of aging, weight loss, hereditary, or after childbirth. A sagging breast appears deflated with loss of upper pole fullness; however, in a breast lift surgery, we can eliminate excess skin and tighten the surrounding tissue, giving the breasts a more youthful, “perky” appearance.

Breast Reduction

Macromastia, which refers to overly large breasts, can cause a variety of problems, including neck and back pain, breathing problems, skeletal deformities, and feelings of self-consciousness. The board-certified plastic surgeons at CRS Plastic Surgery will evaluate you for a Breast Reduction, listen to your concerns, and then develop a plan that will effectively reduce excess skin and fat for smaller breasts that are in better proportion to the rest of the body.

Breast Implant Revision

The Breast Implant Revision is not a standard or routine surgical procedure. It is generally for women who have undergone breast surgery from other plastic surgeons and are sometimes not satisfied with their ultimate results. Our cosmetic surgeons at CRS Plastic Surgery offer breast revision surgery to correct problems or dissatisfaction such as symmastia, malpositioning, bottoming out, capsular contracture, or asymmetrical breasts. Through various surgical techniques, our physicians can address patients’ dissatisfaction and correct any abnormalities.

Inverted Nipple Surgery

The Inverted Nipple Surgery is a surgical procedure performed to correct a congenital condition where the nipples retract inwards rather than protruding outwards. Inverted nipples are usually harmless, though they can often make breastfeeding more challenging.

Male Breast Reduction

Gynecomastia is a common condition in men that results in the breasts taking on an enlarged appearance. The development of gynecomastia is usually associated with benign pubertal changes. In adolescent boys, the condition is often a source of psychological stress that can cause extreme self-consciousness and even depression. The goals of gynecomastia surgery are to reduce excess fat, skin, and glandular tissue to give men a more contoured-looking chest.
