Double chins are not unusual
Many of us believe everyone else has a double chin, but not us. Reality says otherwise. As our tissues loosen with aging and as some fat accumulates under our chin, the result is inevitable sagging — a double chin.

What is Kybella®?
Kybella® is basically made from deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the human body that helps with the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. The simple concept behind Kybella® is that deoxycholic doesn’t know the difference between fat that is eaten or fat that has simply collected under your chin. When injected, it breaks down the fat, just as it does with dietary fat. When the fat cells under your chin are broken down the contour of your chin slims dramatically.

Dr. Low and Dr. Cheung customize our Kybella® treatments for each patient. Some patients see the results they want after two to four treatments; others require six (the FDA approved maximum is six). The number of treatments will depend on the amount of fat stored under your chin, along with your desired final profile. Each treatment is spaced four weeks apart.
Kybella® has no side effects and requires no recovery time. You will likely have some swelling in the area; this is especially true with higher levels of fat accumulation. But this resolves in anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.
Because Kybella® destroys the fat cells, results are permanent. However, if you gain weight, submental fat can return.
